Reel Nature | Children’s Conscious Filmmaking Workshop

Join us for a hands-on, four-hour outdoor filmmaking experience for children ages 7–14. Kids will spin the Peace Keyword Wheel, take their word into nature, build a story around it, and leave with a short film they made themselves — start to finish. No experience needed.

What Your Child Will Experience

During this workshop, your child will:

• Discover their creative voice through storytelling and nature
• Learn basic filmmaking and shot composition
• Collaborate with peers in a small, supportive group
• Edit their own footage into a finished short reel
• Leave with confidence, a new skill, and something real they created

How the Day Unfolds

• Gather and Group — Children arrive and are welcomed into small creative groups
• Spin the Wheel — Each group spins the Peace Keyword Wheel and receives their word for the day
• Find the Story — Groups discuss what the word means, how it shows up in nature, and what story they could tell
• Film It — Everyone gets hands-on time behind the camera capturing footage in nature
• Edit and Screen — In the final hour kids edit their footage into a short reel they take home

Why This Works

Children are consuming more content than ever before — but rarely creating it. Reel Nature flips that. By grounding the creative process in nature and conscious awareness, kids are not just learning filmmaking. They are learning how to observe, how to listen, and how to tell the truth of what they see.

This is not a performance. It is an experience. And every child leaves with proof of what they are capable of.

How to Prepare

To set your child up for the best experience:

• Dress in comfortable clothes suitable for being outdoors
• Wear closed-toe shoes appropriate for walking on natural terrain
• Bring a water bottle and a light snack
• Apply sunscreen before arrival
• Arrive 10 minutes early so your child can settle in before we begin

You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of submitting your registration.

Enrollment is limited to 30 participants to maintain an intentional and supported experience for every child.

Participant Agreement and Media Release

By registering for and enrolling your child in the Reel Nature workshop, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Assumption of Responsibility

You understand that Reel Nature is an outdoor, creative, and educational experience. You voluntarily choose to enroll your child and accept responsibility for ensuring they are physically able to participate in light outdoor activity for the duration of the four-hour workshop.

Release of Liability

You hereby release and hold harmless Michelle Lea, nuYounaples, CAMP, Conscious Arts Media Productions, and any affiliated parties from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or demands arising from your child’s participation in this event.

Medical and Special Needs Disclosure

You agree to disclose any allergies, medical conditions, or accommodations your child may need at the time of registration so that our team can provide appropriate support.

Personal Awareness and Boundaries

You agree to honor your child’s needs and communicate with our team if anything arises before or during the event that requires attention.

🎥 Media and Recording Consent

This event may be photographed or filmed for educational and promotional purposes.

By registering, you grant permission to Michelle Lea, nuYounaples, and CAMP to use any photos, video, or media that may include your child’s presence or likeness for marketing, promotional, and educational use, without compensation. No child’s full name will be shared publicly without separate written consent.

If you prefer your child not be photographed, please notify the team in advance or at check-in.
